My brother would feed table sugar to the ants at our bus stop when we were kids. The mound was almost a foot high and twice or three times that wide when he stopped. Ant king, really.
when the gods stopped answering our prayers, the first thought was to wonder if the gods had abandoned us in our hubris. maybe we had taken all they had given for granted. maybe we should have been more pious, more grateful.
then came the thought, maybe the gods had all died. though, none of us had any idea how that could be so. they were so immense and unknowable. could they even die? what could kill a god?
but none of us, in our endless debates, ever guessed the truth.
So far one of the biggest differences between reddit and tumblr for me is that there’s no pressure to create a “good” post. There’s no button to reduce the number of notes a post has (unless you’re the source of one of those notes, which I mean hey, you gave me these imaginary internet numbers in the first place, feel free to rescind them for any reason).
There’s no bots that will automatically delete my post because I didn’t have 10,000 tumbloints, users don’t seem to come out of the woodwork to disparage your post if it doesn’t meet some invisible standard of content (and if they do you can just block them)
I’ve had a reddit account for 14 years and I think you can already get a better picture of who I am as a person in my less then 12 hours of tumblr shitblogging.
Anyway, thanks tumblr friends for being so welcoming.
And thank you for referring to notes as “tumbloints”
I’m not pro-death or killing in any way but the world would be a better place if every single conservative supreme court justice died right now.
I’d prefer all of them realizing the error of their ways and resigning to make way for better judges. But I think six synchronized heart attacks is more likely.

All three cases were ruled 6-3 on ideological lines (6 conservatives against 3 liberals)
All three cases were also brought forward by astroturf Republican-funded groups and were based on shoddy evidence and meritless legal arguments.
It’s a case of blatant corruption and a massive miscarriage of justice.
